2. Just as your SOP focuses on your academic and professional journey, Personal Statements should focus on your personal journey. Specifically: - How have you evolved as a person? - What is your commitment to the community? - Do you have a broader understanding of the society and its problems? - Have you experienced some of these yourself? - Can you collaborate easily with people from Diverse backgrounds? You answers to the questions in this questionnaire should be answered to project the Human side of your personality. Have you broadly understood what has to be communicated through various PERSONAL ESSAYs?

3. How has your personal/family background influenced your decision to pursue graduate studies?

What are your personal motivations for higher studies? Has the family or certain events or individuals played a role in this?

4. Did you face obstacles/difficulties/challenges to access education or while you were studying?

Give specific details of financial, cultural, familial, location or other barriers.

5. How did you overcome those?

How did you navigate or conquer those obstacles in your educational journey?

6. How did it influence you as a person?

Did you develop certain soft-skills? Did your personal philosophy/outlook evolve positively? How?

7. Why is graduate studies in an International University important to you as a person or from a perspective of personal achievement?

Discuss this from what it means to you or your family?

8. Do you have experiences in working for or helping students from socially or economically deprived backgroungs with their education? Provide details. (e.g., women, students from minority communities, economically backward etc.) Also give examples where you have helped others gain access to the resources necessary for success.

Detail experiences supporting educationally underserved demographics (e.g., women, minority groups, economically disadvantaged students) and exemplify efforts made to facilitate access to crucial resources for their academic progression.

10. Give details about your work till date that showd your Social Responsibility or Sustainable Development. Also tell us about your motivations and beliefs in this context

We should talk about efforts for 'sustainable welfare' [like activities dones thru NSS, Company CSR etc] and not individual acts like blood donation or personal charity.

11. Which are some of the problems in the society that often think about doing some or have already done something in a small or big way?

Identify societal issues you actively consider or have taken action to address, whether through small or substantial contributions.

12. Have faced some of these problems yourself?

Have you personally encountered any of these issues?

13. How can your professional knowledge/research directly or indirectly help under-represented groups or deprived communities? Is there is social impact that can be created by your professional knowledge? Provide details.

Find out the some innovative ways in which people have used your area of specialization to address social issues. You can then talk how you could too would like to use your knowledge. It does not mean that you will necessarily apply your knowledge as part of graduate studies. We should be able to show your awareness of problems, you ideas to address the with your knowledge, and your intent to do so.

14. Have you ever worked or studied with colleagues from diverse backgrounds? If so, then what did you learn from the experience?

Mention one context where you had a rich and positive experience of this kind - the location/organisation; diversity on what basis (regional/educational backgound/economic background/educational background); mention how you had unique interactions for the first time with these groups, how it evolved; any key lessons learnt that will work whenever you meet people of other backgrounds in future
